LN DCG 300 F COM – Lenovo Flex Chassis Technical Workshop – Combination of LN DCG 200 F, LN DCG 200 N and LN DCG 200 X courses

PURPOSE

This course includes information on Lenovo Flex Chassis and all internal embedded components and the latest Lenovo DCG announcements – ThinkSystem SN – Node Servers for Flex Chassis and storage connectivity, management with xClarity and Lenovo Networking.

This class is a workshop, where students get hands-on experience on real remote HW available during the course. You will be able to work on Flex Enterprise Chassis with scalable Ethernet and FC Switches and Flex Intel compute nodes. You will become familiar with the latest technologies used in Intel servers, such as CPU, the latest DDR4 memory details, I/O and much more. You will work on Lenovo Network Embeded and TOR switches and implement xClarity Administrator to manage whole infrastructure.

AUDIENCE

This course is intended for pre-sales personal, administrators and technicians, who provide hardware support or daily management for the Lenovo Flex Chassis and all internal embedded components including Ethernet and FC SAN Switches manually or via xClarity Management Tool.

OBJECTIVES

 Students will learn the following topics:

  • Lenovo Enterprise Flex Chassis,
  • Latest Intel CPU Architecture used in Lenovo Flex Servers
  • DDR4 Memory, different Storage, I/O and Management options including latest xClarity Controller,
  • Lenovo Flex Compute Nodes,
  • Lenovo Flex System Networking I/O Architecture,
  • Select and integrate Scalable Switch Elements for Lenovo Flex, right connectors, cabling, and right I/O adapters for Flex System environment,
  • Summarize the key layer 2 and layer 3 features of networking switches and how to configure them on Lenovo TOR and Embedded switches,
  • Flex SAN Storage Connectivity,
  • xClarity Administrator Implementation, Management of the Flex Chassis ,
  • xClarity daily management and advanced features like OS deployment, configuration templates…,
  • Basic problem determination of Flex Chassis and all embedded components using HW & SW Tools.
